Masatoshi Ichino is active as the 3rd generation potter from his grandfather's generation in the land of Tamba-ware in Hyogo prefecture.

He grew up watching his parents at a young age he naturally began to make ceramics himself. After graduating from ceramic art school in Kyoto, he worked for two years at a workshop in Shiga and became independent in his Hometown of Tamba in 2011.

He continues to only utilize the clay from Tamba (which gives a unique natural texture from the local soil) and keeps the "no glaze" tradition of Tamba-yaki.

His ceramics characteristics produce a comfortable shape and color that is still used today. You can feel the practical beauty of Ichino's products as every piece has a lightness perfect for everyday use. Ichino-san also makes cooking utensils such as bowls, mortars, serving dishes, as well as clay pots.

How to properly care and use ceramics:

-This is made of clay.

-Light coloured pottery may change colour if left for a long time with oil or dark sauce. Please wash as soon as possible.

-Recommend to wash by hand. Never dishwashing machine as this may crack the ceramic.

-Please dry well to protect them from mold.

-Not recommended to use in a microwave.

-Not to be used in oven.

-When storing in layers, you can prevent them from chipping by layering a cloth or paper in between.

With a little effort, you can use the vessel made with attention to detail for a long time.
